September 17, 2001
It was the first day after the attack on the World Trade Center that was supposed to be a "normal" day; a Monday when the stock market would be open again, where schools would once again be in session and when we were all supposed to try to get on with our lives. Eerily enough, it was also one of the most beautiful days in a while, just from the sheer brilliance of the pre-sunset sky. The clouds were mere wisps in the pale blue sky as the sun began sinking down into the horizon over New Jersey. Looking south, however, it was very apparent that nothing, at all, was normal.
