OHNY: Thirteen/WNET/WLIW
09 October 2004We managed to sneak in under the 3pm cutoff at the offices of Thirteen/WNET (now incorporating WLIW as well) and got an hour-long private tour of the space seeing, among other things, the duplication room, the studio where they film programs such as NOW With Bill Moyers (which is, in fact, just a big empty room into which they roll a desk and television when then film on Thursdays), the control room for said studio, an audio control room and the room where all of the satelite and broadcast feeds are monitored. Did you know that for an annual donation starting at $1,300, you can borrow tapes from the Patron Lending Library which boasts over 2,500 programs that Thirteen has broadcast over the years? I did't.
